The University of Toronto Alumni Association in collaboration with the Sexual & Gender Diversity Office and the Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies have hosted six gatherings for LGBTQ alumni since June 2007! Scholarships & Awards
Emerging just in the last few years are scholarships, bursary and awards for students who are contributing to the LGBTQ communities and the student experience on and off campus, in and out of the classroom!

These awards play an important role in students' lives, and are based on need, merit and leadership. The Awards committee met recently (Spring 2009), and decided to take action to raise money for LGBTQ scholarships, bursaries and awards, so as to ensure their continued level of funding during a financially challenging time for the University.

Committee members are asking friends and colleagues at U of T to consider supporting the LGBTQ Awards  Attached, you will find the LGBTQ Student Scholarship Funds pledge form, the explanation for which reads:

"To ensure that scholarships and awards supporting LGBTQ undergraduate and graduate students have the financial stability and growth needed, LGBTQ staff, faculty and allies at the University of Toronto are pledging to support LGBTQ student scholarships, bursaries and awards for the coming year. This new opportunity will allow UofT alumni and employees to contribute to merit-based scholarships; needs based bursaries; research awards; and awards for community activism. Please contribute to LGBTQ student scholarships today!
